Welcome

Hello! I’m Amanda Castillo, RNC-IBCLC, owner and founder of Breastfriends, LLC. I was raised in the Texas Panhandle. I am a wife and mother of four, twin boys (24), my only daughter (20) and our last miracle boy (8) I have been a mother/baby nurse since 2012. My kids are my inspiration and how my journey to nursing began. 24 years ago, I was a pregnant teen with twins on bedrest for two months in the hospital. I got to see the good and the bad of nursing, and it was at that moment that God led me to this profession in women-infant health. God has continued to add each building block of my career from receiving my nursing degree in 2012, my certification in Maternal Newborn Nursing (RNC-MNN) in 2016, my certification as a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) in 2019, completion of International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in 2022 and (TOTS) Tethered Oral Tissue Specialty Trained in 2023. The experience and knowledge gained through my personal journey, as well as these additional certifications, have led to the conception of this company.

My passion is to educate and help each mother any family meet their personal breastfeeding goals. I want you to feel seen, supported, and confident. I will be transparent and honest, like a friend…a Breastfriend 😉 Whether you want to breastfeed for a week, three years, or exclusively pump to bottle feed, I want to assist you along the way— empowering you to do what is best for you and your family. I currently offer in-person, home visits in Amarillo/Canyon, Texas and virtual consultations no matter where you live.

Breastfriends, LLC seeks to serve the community by providing excellent lactation support and share clinical knowledge with families seeking help with lactation. Breastfriends, LLC’s goal is to offer superior level of care by keeping high standard of clinical practice and growing our knowledge through conferences and continuing education. We want to meet families where they are- providing the information and support needed to make educated and informed choices about their breastfeeding journey. Breastfriends, LLC’s philosophy is to start each client interaction with connection and compassion, understanding the goals and desires of the entire family. We also aim to provide personalized education and clinical recommendations to help families achieve their goals. We want to leave each family feeling seen, supported, and confident because of their interaction with us.
